April Update: An Encouraging Encounter

At one of our recent Bible Studies at the AmericInn in Viroqua, a man who was passing through on his truck route overheard that we were talking about our Lord Jesus Christ. At first, he was hesitant to engage with us and walked away, but he came back just as we finished our discussion of the section of John we were looking at that night. We happened to finish 10 or 15 minutes early this time, giving us extra time to talk with our visitor. It turns out he's an extremely passionate believer, not exactly of the Lutheran stripe, but we nonetheless rejoiced in God's word and grace for us together! Speaking for myself, it was an encouraging conversation, spurring me on to greater confidence and zeal for the Lord's mission and callings for us. There's a decent chance we could meet him again next time he passes through Viroqua, so we pray for further encouragement and refinement in Christ.

We've also planned a card game night at Hotel Fortney, 4-6pm April 27. We'd love to see you there! You can let us know ahead of time if you plan to join us, or just show up. The bar will have drinks for sale (alcoholic and otherwise), and we'll have some snacks, too. Let's take the evening just to enjoy one another's company!

Otherwise, things proceed largely as before. After a week off from Bible Study to focus our devotion on the Passion of Christ during Holy week, we look forward to resuming our study of John next Tuesday!
